This is a beautiful piece. This is a reminder of who we are as Africans. We should be proud of our heritage and stand tall, always.

Gladius Poeticus

Baobab Tree

The mighty Baobab tree

Standing erect and tall

On the African land

As it burries its head

Into the red stained earth

Full of shame and anger

How it spreads its arms

High above the ground

To persuade the Gods

And then again

How it drills its big roots

Deep down into the soil

To claim its heritage
